Learn some information about ASTM B637 Nickel Alloy 718 Forged Bar

ASTM B637 Nickel Alloy 718 Forged Bar, also known as Inconel 718 Bar, is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium superalloy enriched with nickel, chromium, molybdenum, iron, niobium, and titanium. It is prized for its exceptional high-temperature strength, good ductility, corrosion resistance, and excellent mechanical properties from cryogenic to elevated temperatures (up to 1,300°F/704°C). Due to its durability and ability to withstand extreme environments, the forged bar is commonly used in engine and airframe components in the aerospace industry, as well as in gas turbines, oil and gas exploration, and nuclear engineering.

What are the properties of 718 nickel alloy?

718 alloy is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-based alloy with extremely high yield strength, tensile strength, and creep-rupture properties at temperatures up to 700°C. 718 alloy exhibits a slow age-hardening reaction, meaning it does not spontaneously harden during heating and cooling, making it suitable for annealing and welding.
