What are the specific specifications of Incoloy 800?
The chemical composition of Incoloy 800HT alloy is limited to the range of 800H alloy and requires heat treatment at at least 2100°F (1149°C). Its carbon content is 0.06% to 0.10% (0.05% to 0.10% for 800H alloy), and its Al + Ti content is 0.85% to 1.20% (0.30% to 1.20% for 800H alloy).
Testing Inconel 800HT tubing conforming to ASTM B407 UNS N08811 is not only to determine its permissible fiber stress but also to detect any significant defects. Defects such as drill holes or transverse tangential notches may typically be present on seamless Inconel 800HT alloy tubing. According to ASTM B407, cold-drawn DIN 1.4959 tubing must meet commercial straightness requirements.
