What is Alloy 800?
Alloy 800 is a widely used material for equipment requiring resistance to corrosion, high strength, oxidation, carburization, and other harmful effects at high temperatures. For high-temperature applications requiring optimal creep and fracture properties, use Alloy 800HP. Chromium in the alloy imparts its oxidation and corrosion resistance. The high nickel content maintains the austenitic structure, giving the alloy good ductility. Nickel also helps resist scale, general corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. The iron content provides resistance to internal oxidation.
