Inconel 713C Round Bar Key Features

1.Precipitation‑strengthened microstructure: γ′‑phase accounts for approximately 60 % of matrix volume. Aluminium‑titanium elements drive precipitation hardening without additional complex heat‑treatment cycles.

2.Room‑temperature mechanical metrics: Under AMS 5391 specification, tensile strength ranges 830‑950 MPa, 0.2 % offset yield strength 650‑760 MPa, elongation sits between 2‑5 %, hardness reaches 35‑40 HRC.

3.Elevated‑temperature strength retention: It retains roughly 80 % of room‑temperature strength at 700 °C, with maximum continuous service temperature capped at 950 °C for load‑bearing components.

4.High‑temperature surface stability: 11‑14 % chromium plus 5.5‑6.5 % aluminium form protective oxide scales, suppressing oxidation and sulphidation within its service‑temperature window.

5.Processing‑related material limits: It has 7.91 g/cm³ density and low ductility. Fusion welding brings high hot‑cracking risk; machining demands low cutting speed and rigid tool clamping.

Item Parameter
Density 7.91 g/cm³
Melting range 1260‑1288 °C
Max continuous service temperature 950 °C
Typical hardness (as‑cast) 35‑40 HRC

Inconel 713C Round Bar Typical Application Areas

1.Aerospace gas turbines: Fabricate turbine blades and nozzle guide vanes. The alloy maintains creep rupture strength at 870–950°C under cyclic thermal loads.

2.Industrial gas turbines: Produce first-stage static vanes and transition ducts. It sustains long-term oxidation attack inside hot gas flow passages.

3.High-performance automotive: Manufacture turbocharger turbine wheels. It resists thermal fatigue under rapid temperature rise and drop cycles.

4.Power generation equipment: Make combustor liners and hot-section static parts. It retains stable mechanical properties at continuous high-temperature exposure.

Inconel 713C Machining & Welding

Inconel 713C has high work-hardening rate and low ductility. Conventional fusion welding carries high cracking risk. The table summarizes recommended machining and welding specifications.

Category Technical Details
Machining Use coated carbide or ceramic tools; low cutting speed, rigid fixture, sulfurized cutting oil.
Weldability Not recommended for structural load-bearing joints. Limited repair by EBW/GTAW under low restraint.
Filler Metal (if repair) Hastelloy W or Inconel 92 filler wire

FAQ:

Q1: Can Inconel 713C be welded for repair?
A: Welding 713C is extremely challenging due to its high Al+Ti content, which makes it prone to cracking. We recommend specialized laser cladding or induction brazing. For parts requiring extensive welding, Inconel 625 is the superior Cost-effective Solution.

Q2: Is 713C equivalent to Inconel 718?
A: Not exactly. While both are superalloys, 713C is a casting alloy optimized for higher temperatures (up to 980°C), while 718 is primarily a wrought alloy optimized for high yield strength below 700°C.

Q3: Do you offer "Cut-to-Length" services for Inconel 625 bars?
A: Yes. We offer precision bandsaw cutting and Centerless Grinding (h8-h11 tolerances) for Inconel 625 bright rods to match your CNC automatic feeder requirements.

Q4: Why choose your Inconel 713C master alloy for UAV turbine wheels?
A: Our 713C master alloy is produced via VIM with ultra-tight chemistry control. This ensures consistent fluidity and predictable shrinkage for your investment casting process, resulting in higher yield rates for complex parts.
