GH3044 Nickel-Based Sheet & Plate Description

Gnee Alloy GH3044 Superalloy Sheet Description
GH3044 plate is a nickel-chromium-based, solid-solution-strengthened wrought superalloy (similar to UNS GH44 / XH60BT) designed for high-temperature structural components. It exhibits excellent oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1000°C, maintains moderate strength below 900°C, and offers good cold formability, long-term microstructural stability, and excellent weldability.
Its chemical composition is based on nickel (balance), with chromium (20.0%–23.0%) and tungsten (10.0%–12.0%) serving as key strengthening elements; it also contains iron (≤3.0%–4.0%) and molybdenum (1.0%–1.5%). Room-temperature mechanical property requirements include a tensile strength of ≥1050 MPa, a yield strength of ≥600 MPa, and an elongation of ≥25%.

Comprehensive Manufacturing Process for GH3044 Plates
We employ a fully closed-loop production process to ensure the material possesses superior flatness, uniform grain structure, and freedom from hidden defects, meeting the demands of high-temperature service:
VIM + ESR Dual-Melting Process (Core Quality Control)
We utilize a combination of Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) and Electroslag Remelting (ESR). This process eliminates impurity segregation, reduces internal shrinkage cavities and micro-cracks, significantly enhances material uniformity, and effectively prevents cracking during long-term high-temperature operation. All aerospace-grade GH3044 plates are produced using this dual-melting method.
Multi-pass Cold Rolling
For thin plates (0.05mm–3.0mm): Repeated cold rolling combined with intermediate solution annealing is used to eliminate internal rolling stresses, achieving ultra-thin, uniform thickness and a smooth surface finish.
For thick plates (4.0mm–12.0mm): Hot rolling is employed, followed by pickling to remove surface scale.
Solution Heat Treatment (1150°C – 1200°C)
High-temperature solution treatment followed by rapid water quenching ensures full solid solution of alloying elements, thereby maximizing ductility, weldability, and high-temperature oxidation resistance.
Precision Leveling and Custom Cutting
High-precision leveling equipment ensures excellent flatness in the finished plates. Laser cutting based on customer drawings allows for custom-sized blanks that require no secondary grinding.
Comprehensive Quality and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Prior to packaging and shipment, the material undergoes 100% inspection for surface appearance, dimensional tolerances, and metallographic grain structure, as well as ultrasonic flaw detection.

FAQ
Q1: Why choose GH3044 over GH4169 (718) for service at 900°C?
A: This is a classic selection error. While 718 is stronger at 600°C, it reaches its over-aging threshold at 750°C and softens rapidly. GH3044 is the "Red Zone Hero" because its strength comes from solid-solution elements (W, Mo) that do not dissolve at extreme heat, providing superior Structural Integrity.
Q2: Is GH3044 easy to weld for complex assemblies?
A: Absolutely. One of its greatest commercial advantages is its Superior Weldability. It is highly ductile and does not require complex post-weld aging heat treatments, significantly reducing your Custom Fabrication time and cost.
Q3: Can GH3044 handle sulfur-containing combustion gases?
A: Yes. Its high Chromium content (23.5-26.5%) provides a robust defense against oxidation and corrosion in various combustion atmospheres, making it ideal for afterburner manifolds.
Q4: Do you offer trial orders for prototype liners?
A: Yes. As a Reliable Supplier, we support aerospace and energy innovation. We offer Flexible MOQs on our in-stock inventory of standard gauges.
