Inconel 600 Plate Description
Inconel 600 plates are made from a nickel-chromium alloy, specifically designed for high-temperature applications. These plates exhibit excellent mechanical strength and are also used in cryogenic processes, tolerating temperatures up to 1200°C. Inconel 600 clad plates are approved under ASME and AS1210 pressure vessel and boiler codes-Section I, Section III, and Section VIII-for use at temperatures up to 650°C. They can be easily welded using conventional shop welding techniques. Due to their exceptional resistance to furnace atmospheres and oxidation, Inconel 600 cold-rolled plates are highly sought after in various industries.
The composition of Inconel Alloy 600 plates includes approximately 70% nickel, along with cobalt. Chromium content ranges between 14% and 17%, while aluminum is present in amounts between 0.4% and 1%. Other elements, such as iron, silicon, sulfur, copper, and carbon, are found in trace amounts (less than or around 1%). The UNS N06600 Inconel 600 strip has slight variations in composition but maintains similar characteristics and functionality compared to Inconel sheets.
