UNS N10276 Hastelloy C276 Heat Exchanger Tubes information

UNS N10276 (Hastelloy C276) heat exchanger tubes are a highly corrosion-resistant nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy suitable for use in harsh chemical environments and extreme temperatures. Key properties include excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. These excellent properties are maintained due to the low carbon content, which minimizes carbide precipitation. These tubes offer exceptional strength and durability, making them suitable for applications such as chemical processing, pollution control, and waste disposal.

What are the temperature limits of Hastelloy C-276?

Hastelloy C-276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium corrosion-resistant alloy. It resists pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. Hastelloy C-276 can be hardened simply by cold working. Hastelloy C-276 can operate at cryogenic temperatures up to 750°F (400°C).

Fabrication and Forms
Production: Available in both seamless and welded materials, typically produced to tight tolerances to meet a variety of application requirements.
Surface Finish: Tubes are available with a variety of surface finishes, including sanitary or rolled finishes for high-purity applications.

Why Used in Heat Exchangers
Excellent Corrosion Resistance: C276's application in heat exchangers stems primarily from its ability to withstand corrosive fluids that attack other alloys, such as traditional stainless steels.
Durability: Its inherent strength and toughness enable it to withstand high condensation stresses and maintain durability under harsh operating conditions.
Versatility: Its combination of high strength, corrosion resistance, and weldability makes it a versatile choice for diverse and challenging heat exchange applications.
