Overview of properties and applications of Inconel 706 (UNS N09706) high temperature alloy
Inconel 706 (UNS N09706): high temperature strength alloy
Inconel706 (UNS N09706) is a Fe-Ni-Cr-based precipitation hardening deformed high-temperature alloy with an applicable temperature range of 550 to 650°C. This alloy is improved on the basis of GH4169 alloy and has similar properties to GH4169 alloy. By reducing the niobium content, Inconel 706 alloy shows better characteristics in terms of production process performance, hot and cold processing performance and welding performance. Below 700°C, the alloy exhibits excellent strength, good oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance. Inconel 706 alloy is suitable for the production of large and oversized high-temperature alloy products, such as aero-engine casings, diffuser casings, turbine disks and fasteners. In addition, it can be used to manufacture large-diameter discs for gas turbines used in combined cycle power generation.

Inconel 706 (UNS N09706) characteristics;
1. Corrosion resistance: Inconel 706 (UNS N09706) alloy has excellent corrosion resistance and can be used in various corrosive media, such as acid, alkali, salt water and chloride. For applications requiring greater corrosion resistance, similar high-temperature alloys such as Inconel 625 and Hastelloy are available.
2. High strength performance: Inconel 706 (UNS N09706) alloy has high strength and toughness and can withstand high stress and high temperature environments. If higher strength materials are required, other high-strength materials can be selected, such as titanium alloy, high-strength stainless steel, etc.
3. High conductivity: Inconel 706 (UNS N09706) alloy has good conductivity and can be used in applications requiring conductivity in the field of electronic and electrical appliances. If you need materials with higher conductivity, you can choose metal materials such as copper and aluminum.
4. Other properties: In addition to corrosion resistance, high strength, and high conductivity, other performance requirements need to be considered, such as wear resistance, fatigue resistance, oxidation resistance, etc. Select the appropriate material based on specific application requirements.
Inconel 706 (UNS N09706) application;
Inconel 706 (UNS N09706) is an alloy widely used in gas turbine disks, shafts, fasteners and casings. The combination of high temperature strength and ease of fabrication makes it the first choice for this type of application.
In the aerospace industry, alloys are used in turbine disks, shafts and housings; diffuser housings; compressor disks and shafts; engine mounts; and fasteners. In addition to aerospace applications, the alloy is used in turbine disks for large industrial gas turbines.
