Monel 400 metal alloy Flange description
Monel 400 flanges are made of a corrosion resistant, high strength nickel-copper super alloy. This material is easily weldable and has good formability. Gnee Steel is a large manufacturer and supplier of such flanges. These flanges are available in different pressure classes, from Class 150 Monel UNS N04400 flanges to Class 2500, from PN6 to PN64. The class defines the pressure capacity. The composition of Monel 400 flanges includes 63% nickel and 28% copper, which makes it stronger. Alloy 400 orifice flanges are a special type used to fit pipes with orifice plates. The material has a minimum yield strength of 195MPa and a minimum tensile strength of 480MPa. There are different standards to cover flanges of different nominal bore sizes. ANSI B16.5 Monel DIN 2.4360 blind flanges, which range from ½ inch to 48 inches in diameter.
