Hastelloy C22 and C276 round bars are high-performance nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys renowned for their superior corrosion resistance to a wide range of corrosive media, including reducing agents, oxidizing agents, chlorides, and acids, making them ideal for harsh chemical, oil and gas, and marine environments. While both offer high strength, C276 (UNS N10276) is more versatile and easier to machine, while C22 (UNS N06022) offers superior resistance to chlorides and pitting corrosion and is often used as a weld filler to improve weld corrosion resistance. Generally, C276 has slightly higher strength, while C22 offers better weldability and formability.

What are the material specifications for C276 alloy?

 

C-276 alloy is easy to weld and machine, and can be processed using standard workshop techniques for austenitic stainless steel and nickel-based alloys. The hot working temperature range for C-276 alloy is 1600 – 2250°F (870 – 1230°C). Water quenching should be performed after hot working.

Hastelloy round bars are a nickel-based alloy containing 15% molybdenum and 14.5% chromium, giving them excellent corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, and high tensile strength to meet a wide range of industrial needs. It is ideal for corrosive environments, ensuring the integrity of Hastelloy C276 bars even under welding conditions.

Hastelloy C22 round bars are another high-performance alloy, composed of 22% chromium, 14% molybdenum, and 3% tungsten. This alloy bar exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and superior mechanical properties, including a minimum tensile strength of 690 MPa and a minimum yield strength of 310 MPa. Hastelloy C22 round bars have an elongation of up to 45%, maintaining good machinability even under high pressure and high temperature conditions.
