Incoloy 800H 800HT metal tubing
Alloy 800H is a solid solution high-strength austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy containing carbon, aluminum, titanium, silicon, manganese and limited amounts (Al+Ti). Its chemical composition is similar to that of Alloy 800, but different from Alloy 800. After special solution treatment (grain size ≥90µm/ASTM No.4), the tensile strength of Alloy 800H above 600℃ is significantly improved.
Incoloy800HT is a high-quality nickel-iron-chromium alloy, the same series as Incoloy800, but has fully austenitic low-carbon characteristics. The cobalt content is strictly controlled below 0.01%, allowing the alloy to maintain excellent properties while avoiding the negative effects of excessive cobalt.
Incoloy 800, 800H, and 800HT tubing are made from nickel-iron-chromium alloys that provide good strength and excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization in high temperature environments. These nickel steel tubings are identical except for the higher carbon content of the 800H alloy and the addition of up to 1.20% aluminum and titanium to the 800HT alloy. ASTM B407 Alloy 800 Tubing was the first of these alloys and was slightly modified to become Incoloy 800H. This modification was designed to control the carbon content (0.05%-0.10%) and grain size to optimize stress rupture properties. Incoloy 800HT is further modified with a combined titanium and aluminum content (0.85%-1.20%) to ensure optimal high temperature performance.
Incoloy 800H/HT SCH40 Tubing is manufactured for high temperature structural applications. Due to the presence of nickel, the pipe is highly resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking and embrittlement caused by sigma phase precipitation. Incoloy 800 alloy exhaust pipe has excellent corrosion resistance. In the solution annealed condition, 800H and 800HT alloys have even better creep and stress rupture resistance.
Incoloy 800 is primarily used in applications that can withstand high temperatures of 1100°F. 800H and 800HT alloys are often used in applications where creep and rupture resistance is required. The chemical balance in the nickel steel alloy shows excellent resistance to carburization, oxidation, and nitriding. 800HT pipe has the excellent cold forming characteristics commonly found in nickel-chromium alloys and can be welded by common techniques.
