B B-3 Hastelloy Pipe

HastelloyB has extremely low carbon and silicon content, which reduces the precipitation of carbon and other impurity phases in the welding heat-affected zone. Therefore, its welds also have sufficient corrosion resistance. Hastelloy B-2 alloy has good corrosion resistance in reducing media, such as hydrochloric acid solutions of various temperatures and concentrations. It also has good corrosion resistance in moderately concentrated sulfuric acid solutions (or containing a certain amount of chloride ions). It can also be used in acetic acid and phosphoric acid environments. Alloy materials can have the best corrosion resistance only when they are in a suitable metallographic state and pure crystal structure.
Hastelloy B-3 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy with excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures. It is also resistant to sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid and phosphoric acid as well as other non-oxidizing media. B-3 alloy has a special chemical composition designed to achieve greater thermal stability than B-2 alloy, making it easier to manufacture.
Since this alloy does not contain significant chromium additives, it should not be used in oxidizing media or in the presence of oxidizing salts such as iron or copper salts. The latter may form when iron or copper is present in a system containing hydrochloric acid. Likewise, Alloy B-3 will not withstand wet chlorine or hypochlorite bleach.
