It is resistant to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in extreme environments like those in the oil and gas industries. The high molybdenum content in Zeron 100 material gives excellent resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. Its composition also makes it highly weldable, while its low carbon levels provide exceptional toughness down to cryogenic temperatures.
