Is 440C better than 420?

Type 440C (UNS S44004) is a martensitic stainless steel with high carbon and chromium content. Molybdenum improves the steel deep hardening and toughness. It also enhances wear resistance. After heat treatment, it is capable of attaining the highest strength, hardness and wear resistance of all stainless alloys. The higher carbon content makes 440C a harder version compared to the 420 series; however, 440C is not as corrosion resistant as 420HC. The vanadium in 420HC makes it a bit more malleable and increases its wear resistance. The Mo in 440C also makes it harder.440C should sharpen pretty easily. If the knife has a chisel grind, I believe you should only sharpen the sharpened side, then lightly touch up the other side to knock down the burr. Even the plain edge portion has a chisel grind?
