316 is austenitic grade steel that is used to manufacture sheets and plates. However, it also has a low carbon version that is denoted by the letter 'L'. Stainless Steel 316L Sheet is a low carbon content steel sheet. Due to the low carbon content,the Stainless Steel 316L Plate avoids carbide precipitation. Moreover, ASTM A240 Type 316L also offers qualities such as flawless finish, durability, reliability, superior tensile, and resistance to corrosion. ASTM A240 Grade 316L annealing requires heating these sheets in the temperature range of 1038 degrees C to 1149 degrees C.
SS 316L Plate also provides higher creep, and stress to rupture properties at elevated temperatures. The low content of carbon in the 316L 2b Stainless Steel Sheet also reduces the risk of invasive corrosion for usage in medical implants. UNS S31603 Plate also avoids sensitization.

316L Stainless Steel Coil has a density of 8000 kg/m3. 316L Stainless Steel Strip has reduced grain boundary precipitation.
