439 stainless steel is used for decorative plates of elevators and escalators. The 439 steel type is based on ordinary ferrite materials (430) and reduces the C content. At the same time, stabilizing elements such as Ti are added to make the steel type resistant to intergranular corrosion. The stability, formability and weldability are all improved. Compared with 304 steel, although its elongation is lower (about 30%), its strength and corrosion resistance are equivalent, and its corrosion resistance is better than that of 200 series materials.
