ASTM B564 Monel 400 Nickel Alloy Blind Flange

ASTM B564 Monel 400 Nickel Alloy Blind Flange

ASTM B564 Monel 400 blind flanges are nickel-copper alloy flanges conforming to ASTM B564. They are known for their excellent corrosion resistance to seawater, various acids (especially degassed hydrofluoric and hydrochloric acids), and alkaline solutions. Their high strength and good mechanical properties in both elevated temperatures (up to 1000°F) and sub-zero temperatures make them ideal for marine, chemical processing, and oil and gas applications.

Is Monel 400 alloy magnetic?

Monel 400 alloy is not always non-magnetic, as its room temperature magnetism depends on its chemical composition and thermal history, with a Curie temperature close to the ambient temperature range. While Monel 400 alloy is widely used for its corrosion resistance, it is slightly magnetic at room temperature but loses its magnetism at higher temperatures.
