What is the solution annealing of hastelloy C276?
Hastelloy C276 is a tungsten-added nickel-molybdenum-chromium high-temperature alloy with unparalleled corrosion resistance in a variety of harsh environments. Its high nickel and molybdenum content gives it excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion under reducing conditions, while chromium enhances its resilience in oxidizing environments. The low carbon content prevents carbide precipitation during welding, ensuring continuous corrosion resistance of welded structures, and resistance to grain boundary precipitates in the weld heat affected zone makes it ideal for various chemical process applications in the welded state.

Corrosion Resistant Hastelloy C276 (Uns N10276)
Hastelloy C276 is well known for its excellent corrosion resistance, making it one of the most widely used alloys in harsh chemical environments. It effectively resists ferric and cupric chloride, thermally contaminated media, chlorine compounds, acids such as formic and acetic acid, seawater, brines and various chlorine-containing solutions. Its corrosion resistance extends to grain boundary precipitates in the weld area, ensuring reliability in a variety of chemical processes, while also excelling in resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking.
Hastelloy C276 (Uns N10276) features include:
Excellent corrosion resistance in reducing environments. Excellent resistance to strong oxidizing salt solutions such as ferric chloride and cupric chloride. High nickel and molybdenum content provides good corrosion resistance in reducing environments. Low carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation at grain boundaries during welding, thereby maintaining corrosion resistance in the heat affected zone of the weld joint.
Resists localized corrosion such as pitting and stress corrosion cracking. Withstands the corrosive effects of wet chlorine, hypochlorites and chlorine dioxide, making it one of the few materials suitable for such applications.
