The main difference between nickel-based superalloys and cobalt-based superalloys lies in their matrix elements and main performance characteristics.
Nickel-based superalloys are based on nickel, while cobalt-based superalloys are based on cobalt. Nickel-based superalloys have good high-temperature strength, oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance, and are widely used in high-temperature components such as aircraft engines and gas turbines.
In contrast, cobalt-based superalloys have higher thermal stability, oxidation resistance and hot corrosion resistance, so they perform better in high temperature, high pressure and high oxidation environments.
The characteristics of nickel-based superalloys are that they are based on nickel, and aluminum, titanium and other elements are added to form a strengthening phase, which has excellent oxidation resistance and creep resistance.
The characteristics of cobalt-based superalloys are that they are based on cobalt, and solid solution strengthening is carried out by adding chromium, tungsten, molybdenum and other elements, which have higher thermal stability, oxidation resistance and hot corrosion resistance. This type of alloy is mainly used in aerospace, petrochemical and other fields, among which (GH3536) is widely used in aerospace engine combustion chambers, afterburner and other components.
