1. Chemical composition
N04400 (Monel 400): mainly composed of nickel and copper, containing about 67% nickel and about 23% copper, and also contains a small amount of iron, manganese, silicon and carbon.
N06600 (Inconel 600): mainly composed of nickel and chromium, containing about 76% nickel and about 15% chromium, in addition to some iron, carbon and a small amount of titanium, aluminum, copper and other elements.
2. Corrosion resistance
N04400: has good corrosion resistance and has high resistance to seawater, salt water, acidic and alkaline media. But it is susceptible to corrosion under strong alkaline conditions.
N06600: has a wider range of corrosion resistance, has excellent corrosion resistance to a variety of acids, alkalis, salts and oxides, and especially shows better corrosion resistance at high temperatures.
3. Physical and mechanical properties
N04400: Density is about 8.83 g/cm3, melting point is about 1315-1350 degrees Celsius, linear expansion coefficient is about 13.3 x 10-6/degree Celsius, thermal conductivity is about 21.8 W/m·K, and elastic modulus is about 179 GPa. It has high strength and good plasticity, but lower strength than N06600.
N06600: It has high strength and hardness, as well as excellent mechanical properties. It maintains good strength and deformation resistance at high temperatures and is suitable for high temperature and high stress environments.

4. Welding performance
N04400: It has good weldability and can be connected by conventional welding methods such as TIG welding, MIG welding and arc welding.
N06600: It should be noted during the welding process that due to its nickel-chromium alloy characteristics, thermal cracks are easily formed in the welding area. Therefore, appropriate welding processes and preheating measures are required to ensure welding quality.
5. Application fields
N04400: Due to its good corrosion resistance and economy, it is often used in the manufacture of pipes, containers and equipment in the fields of marine engineering, chemical engineering, petrochemical engineering and seawater desalination.
N06600: Due to its excellent corrosion resistance and high temperature performance, it is widely used in high temperature furnaces, petrochemical engineering, nuclear engineering, aerospace and chemical processing, especially in the manufacture of equipment in high temperature and corrosive environments.

6. Cost and price
N04400: Relatively economical and relatively low price.
N06600: The price is higher, mainly due to its higher nickel and chromium content and better performance.
