What are the differences between Inconel 600 and 330?

What are the differences between Inconel 600 and 330 Alloy?
Both Inconel 600 and Incoloy 330 are high-temperature alloys, but their main differences lie in their chemical composition and corrosion resistance. Inconel 600 has a higher nickel content (>72%), giving it excellent corrosion resistance under reducing conditions; while Incoloy 330 has a more balanced nickel (34-37%) and chromium (17-20%) content, resulting in better high-temperature strength and better resistance to carburization and oxidation.
Can Inconel 600 alloy be welded?
Inconel 600 alloy can be welded using various methods, such as tungsten inert gas welding (GTAW) or argon arc welding (TIG). Other methods include gas metal arc welding (GMAW), gas metal arc welding (MIG), and plasma arc welding (PAW).

Incoloy 330 Alloy
Incoloy 330 is a special member of the Incoloy alloy family with excellent heat resistance, often referred to as RA330 or Incoloy. Its nickel content ranges from 34% to 37%, and its chromium content from 17% to 20%. Incoloy 330 exhibits excellent oxidation resistance, maintaining its superior properties even at temperatures up to 2100 degrees Fahrenheit (1148 degrees Celsius) through nitriding and carburizing treatments.
In common heat treatment applications, Incoloy 330 withstands rapidly changing environments well. It has good resistance to thermal shock. Compared to steel alloys, Incoloy 330 maintains higher tensile strength. In fact, Incoloy 330 excels in oxidation resistance, strength, sulfur resistance, and carburization resistance.
Inconel 600 Alloy
Inconel 600 is one of the most popular materials in the Inconel alloy family. It exhibits extremely high oxidation resistance at very high temperatures. Its nickel content is at least 72%, which is twice that of Inconel 330. This higher nickel content helps improve its resistance to carburization and oxidation, making it effective against reduced sulfur, oxidized sulfur, or molten metals such as magnesium, zinc, or copper. While its tensile strength, thermal shock resistance, oxidation resistance, and carburization resistance are not as good as Inconel 330, it exhibits excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking.
