Difference Between Hastelloy C22 Pipe and C276 Tubes

Difference Between Hastelloy C22 Pipe and C276 Tubes

Hastelloy C22 tubes have a higher chromium content, which enhances their corrosion resistance in oxidizing environments, while C276 alloy tubes have a higher molybdenum content, making them more resistant to reducing environments and pitting corrosion. C22 tubes are generally more suitable for applications with high chloride content and high temperatures, while C276 tubes are preferred for their overall corrosion resistance and ability to withstand high temperatures in harsh conditions.

What is the service temperature limit for Hastelloy C22?

C-22 alloy should not be used above 700°C (1250°F) due to the formation of deleterious phases above this temperature.

Difference Between Hastelloy C22 Pipe and C276 Tubes

What is Hastelloy C22 used for?

C-22 is suitable for highly corrosive media with high chlorides and high temperatures, such as buffer solutions, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), fabric softeners, cleaning products, and fish, soy and chili sauces.

What is the difference between 625 and C276?

Both Inconel 625 and Hastelloy C-276 are nickel-chromium-molybdenum based alloys. They both have excellent corrosion resistance and good strength. Comparing the two alloys, Inconel 625 has a higher chromium content, while Hastelloy C-276 has a higher molybdenum content.
