Due to its higher chromium content and the addition of aluminum, Inconel 601 bolts offer better high-temperature oxidation resistance than Inconel 600 bolts. While both are nickel-chromium alloys with excellent corrosion and heat resistance, the composition of Inconel 601 makes it more suitable for extreme high-temperature applications such as aircraft exhaust systems and turbochargers.
What are the applications of Inconel 601?
The properties of Inconel 601 alloy make it a widely used material in fields such as heat treatment, chemical processing, pollution control, aerospace, and power generation. 601 alloy is a standard structural material for various heat treatment equipment.

Both Inconel 600 and Inconel 601 bolts exhibit excellent oxidation resistance at high temperatures. The main difference lies in their maximum operating temperature: Inconel 600 bolts have a maximum operating temperature of 2000°F (approximately 1093°C), while Inconel 601 bolts have a higher operating temperature, reaching 2200°F (approximately 1214°C). Furthermore, Inconel 601 bolts perform well under cyclic temperature conditions.
Another material suitable for cyclic temperature conditions is Alloy 330, which exhibits excellent oxidation and carburization resistance at temperatures up to 2100°F (approximately 1173°C). Alloy 330 bolts are also renowned for their superior performance under extreme temperature cycling conditions.
