ASTM B564 UNS N06601 Flange: A Comprehensive Overview
ASTM B564 UNS N06601 flanges (Inconel 601) are nickel-chromium alloy pipe fittings known for their excellent high-temperature oxidation/corrosion resistance, strength, and carburization resistance. They are widely used in furnace components, heat exchangers, and exhaust systems in the chemical, petrochemical, aerospace, and power industries. These flanges are available in various types, such as weld neck flanges, slip-on flanges, blind flanges, threaded flanges, and socket weld flanges, and are used to seal pipelines in high-temperature environments.
What are the specifications of Inconel 601 material?
INCONEL alloy 601 is a nickel-based alloy containing a high percentage of chromium (approximately 25%) with added aluminum, specifically designed to resist high-temperature oxidizing environments encountered in metal and material heat treatment processes.

Inconel 601 flanges are made from an alloy material composed of nickel and chromium. The specific grade of the material varies depending on the proportion of its components. The 601 grade includes nickel, chromium, carbon, as well as manganese, silicon, sulfur, copper, and iron. Some common types include socket weld flanges, butt weld flanges, Inconel 601 slip-on flanges, orifice flanges, and others. Flanges made from this material possess high strength, are resistant to corrosion in the presence of acids, reducing agents, and oxidizing agents, and have higher hardness.
601 alloy flanges have a minimum tensile strength of 550 MPa, a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa, and an elongation of 30%. This material has a higher density than ordinary stainless steel and a melting point of 1411 degrees Celsius. These flanges conform to ASTM B564 standards and comply with international specifications such as ASME/ASTM/DIN, including ASME B16.5, B16.47, etc. Functional types include ASME SB564 Alloy 601 lap joint flanges, as well as slip-on flanges, butt weld flanges, socket weld flanges, orifice flanges, and various other types. Flange facing types include flat face, raised face, and ring type joint.
Inconel 601 flange manufacturers offer flanges in sizes ranging from ½ inch to 48 inches, with varying pressure ratings. Pipe flange alloys are available according to pressure ratings, including Class 150 to Class 2500. These flanges are also available with pressure ratings expressed as PN6 to PN64. Applications for 601 alloy butt weld flanges include chemical processing, power plants, and the oil and petrochemical industries.
