ASME SB444 GR.2 Inconel 625 corrosion resistant seamless pipe

ASME SB444 GR.2 Inconel 625 corrosion resistant seamless pipe
ASME SB444 GR.2 Inconel 625 seamless pipe is a high-performance nickel alloy known for its excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength, making it particularly suitable for demanding applications such as marine, chemical, and aerospace. Grade 2, a special heat treatment of Inconel 625 alloy, allows for temperatures exceeding 2000°F (approximately 1093°C), making it well-suited for high-temperature applications, particularly those involving creep and fatigue. Key properties include resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, high tensile strength, and good weldability.
What is the difference between Inconel 625 Grade 1 and Grade 2?
Grade 1 is typically annealed at around 1600°F to 1800°F (approximately 871°C to 982°C) to provide good ductility and corrosion resistance while maintaining higher strength than Grade 2. Grade 2 is heat treated above 2000°F (approximately 1093°C) to enhance creep and stress-rupture resistance while maintaining corrosion resistance.

Key Features
Level 2 Heat Treatment: This special heat treatment enhances creep and fatigue resistance, making it suitable for high-temperature environments above 593°C (approximately 1100°F).
Corrosion Resistance: It is virtually immune to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking and exhibits strong resistance to a wide range of corrosive agents, including pitting and crevice corrosion.
High Strength and Toughness: Inconel 625 maintains high tensile strength (at least 930 MPa) and good toughness over a wide temperature range, from cryogenic to 982°C (approximately 1800°F).
Mechanical Properties: It has a minimum yield strength of 517 MPa (75,000 psi) and a minimum elongation of 42.5%.
Weldability: The alloy is easily weldable, and niobium stabilizes the sensitization effect during welding.
Applications
Aerospace: Due to its high strength and high-temperature resistance, it is used in various aircraft components and systems.
Chemical Processing: Suitable for handling highly acidic environments and other corrosive chemicals.
Marine: Due to its resistance to seawater corrosion, it is ideal for marine applications.
Nuclear: Due to its high strength and corrosion resistance, it is used in nuclear power plants and power generation.

Gnee Steel specializes in the production of various nickel-based alloys. Gnee Steel's product packaging includes steel strapping: Pipes with an outer diameter of 3 inches or less are typically strapped together with polypropylene film to prevent rust during sea transportation, and then secured with steel strapping. Wooden boxes/crates: Pipes are typically packaged in wooden boxes or crates to protect them during transportation, especially those that are longer or have larger diameters. Seaworthy export packaging: Suppliers typically use standard seaworthy export packaging methods, which may include a variety of materials and techniques to protect the pipes during transportation. Tarpaulin packaging: This prevents rain, seawater, and other external factors from penetrating the export wooden crates during transportation. Gnee Steel specializes in the production and sale of alloy materials. Gnee Steel's products are widely used in aerospace, chemical, power, automotive, and nuclear energy industries, and we can provide customized alloy material solutions based on customer needs.
