Inconel 617, recognized as UNS N06617 or W.Nr. 2.4663a, is a nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloy recognized for its impressive mechanical properties, especially at high temperatures. Known as Alloy 617, the alloy has excellent metallurgical stability, strength and excellent oxidation resistance due to the addition of aluminum. It has the ability to resist various corrosive water environments. Its uses include combustion tanks, piping and transition linings within gas turbines, as well as piping systems for petrochemical processing, heat treatment equipment and nitric acid production.
Inconel 740H obtains age hardening by precipitation of gamma primary and secondary phases. After age strengthening, 740H alloy exhibits excellent high-temperature strength at temperatures below 850°C. 740H alloy contains high content of chromium and cobalt, which has excellent resistance to oxidation, carbonization and sulfurization at high temperatures.
