Inconel 601 Tubes are basically designed with nickel-chromium alloys for applications that require heat and corrosion resistance. The addition of aluminum gives them excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance in high temperature environments. Under severe thermal cycling conditions, this tube alloy is able to form a tightly adherent oxide scale that effectively prevents spalling. This tube alloy has good high temperature strength and resistance to aqueous corrosion. In addition, it maintains excellent ductility even after long-term use.
These tubes have good heat resistance, processability, and excellent metallurgical stability, which results in good resistance to carburization. These tubes have excellent creep rupture and mechanical strength. In addition, they also have high tensile properties at room temperature. These tubes and fittings still show oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 2200°F (1076°C), while also having good toughness and hardness. Likewise, they are also designed to withstand high temperature exposure and severe corrosive environments.
These Inconel alloy tubes are forged at 1038 to 1233 degrees Celsius and are hot and cold worked. Hot working must be done at 872 to 1233 degrees Celsius, while cold working is done using standard tools. In addition, the hardness of these tubes can only be obtained through the cold working process. After hot and cold working, they are annealed at 2100 degrees Celsius and then rapidly cooled at temperatures between 1000 and 760 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent hot cracking.
