This kind of wear, temperature, cobalt, and nickel-base corrosion resistant alloy, when machining, is classified as difficult down to moderate. It is important to realize, however, that the machining of these alloys is possible at satisfactory rates using production methods which are considered conventional. These alloys harden rapidly during machining. During cutting, they generate heat and may, as a result, weld to the surface of the cutting tool.
