Monel Alloy K500 Plate
Monel K500 ship plate is a high-performance nickel-copper alloy plate that has been hardened by aging, designed for harsh marine environments. Based on Monel 400, this material adds aluminum (2.3-3.15%) and titanium (0.35-0.85%). After aging treatment at 480-620℃, its tensile strength can reach more than 1100MPa, yield strength ≥725MPa, hardness HRC25-35, while maintaining excellent seawater corrosion resistance. Monel K500 ship plate is particularly suitable for key parts such as ship propulsion systems, seawater pump shafts, propeller shafts, valve components, etc., and can effectively resist seawater corrosion, cavitation and marine biological attachment. Special attention should be paid to its processing: welding needs to use matching welding material ERNiCu-7 and re-aging treatment, and aging hardening must be performed after cold working to restore performance. Compared with ordinary marine stainless steel, Monel K500 has a longer service life and higher reliability. It is especially suitable for ships operating in deep sea or high-salinity environments for a long time. Although the cost is higher, its excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties can significantly reduce maintenance costs. It is an ideal choice for high-end ships and marine engineering equipment.
