Monel K500 Alloy Pipe
Monel K500 boiler tube is a nickel-copper alloy strengthened by aluminum and titanium aging hardening. While retaining the excellent corrosion resistance of Monel 400 (such as resistance to seawater, hydrofluoric acid and alkaline media), it significantly improves the mechanical properties (tensile strength after aging ≥ 1100 MPa), suitable for high-pressure, highly corrosive boiler environments (such as desalination, chemical heat exchange tubes), and can withstand long-term temperatures up to 600°C. Its manufacturing must comply with standards such as ASTM B163/ASME SB163. After cold working, it must be aged (480-620°C) to optimize performance. When welding, matching welding materials (such as ERNiCu-7) must be used in conjunction with preheating and post-weld heat treatment. When purchasing, the aging hardening state should be ensured and a non-destructive testing report should be provided. Although its stress corrosion resistance is better than that of stainless steel, it still needs to be carefully evaluated in a high chloride ion environment. If working conditions permit, Monel 400 or Inconel 600 can be used as alternative options, but K500 has more advantages in comprehensive strength and corrosion resistance, and processing specifications must be strictly followed to ensure reliability.
