Incoloy 825 is an alloy with a high nickel content in its chemical composition. Nickel is an austenite stabilizing element. As a stable alloy, Chinese Incoloy 825 pipe fittings manufacturers favor this material for many of its properties, including higher impact strength, improved hardenability, and excellent fatigue resistance. In addition to these properties, their corrosion resistance should not be underestimated. Reducing agents and acids can corrode traditional alloys. However, the higher molybdenum and copper content in ASTM B366 UNS N08825 butt weld elbows help prevent corrosion because they can withstand environments containing such solutions.
In addition to good resistance to reducing solutions, the alloy also has the ability to withstand oxidizing environments. Nitrates, oxidizing salts, and nitric acid solutions are highly corrosive and will quickly corrode metals.
825 alloy pipe fittings are of great significance in the chemical processing industry where oxidizing solutions are used because the addition of chromium in the alloy allows it to withstand strong corrosive media. In addition to nickel, titanium is also one of the chemical components of ASME SB 366 UNS N08825. Materials containing titanium alloys often have improved mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. For example, pitting and intergranular corrosion are common problems in piping systems, especially when conveying media. If the alloys are joined using welding processes, corrosion is more likely to occur.
However, the addition of titanium to 825 alloy elbows allows them to be welded in a temperature range of 650°C to 760°C without concern for corrosion. Temperatures between 650°C and 760°C are considered critical because alloys heated at such high temperatures often become sensitive.
