INCONEL 600 Weld Neck Flange
Inconel 600 flanges are usually welded or threaded, and the two flanges are bolted together with washers to provide a seal and facilitate access to the piping system. It is a nickel-chromium alloy designed for high temperatures ranging from cryogenic to 2000°F. It maintains considerable resistance under reducing conditions and makes it corrosion resistant to a wide range of organic and inorganic compounds.
ASTM B564 UNS N06600 Weld Neck Flange contains nickel, which makes it excellent resistance to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking and also has excellent resistance to alkaline solutions. Alloy 600 flanges are available in different varieties such as weld neck flanges, threaded flanges, socket weld flanges, blind flanges, orifice flanges, and slip-on flanges.
It is relatively unaffected by most neutral and alkaline salt solutions and can be used in some corrosive environments. It is resistant to steam and mixtures of steam, air, and carbon dioxide. It is non-magnetic, has excellent mechanical properties, good machinability, high strength, and is easy to weld. It has cold forming properties, which is usually associated with chromium-nickel stainless steels.
