SS 17-4PH is the stainless steel grade which is martensitic and hardened with precipitation. However, the alloy is having alloying elements such as nickel, copper, and chromium. The alloy is often used in the aerospace industries with the fasteners and other structural components. UNS S17400 is having the microstructures which are obtained by the alloy with the help of the remelting process. The refined structure which is there in the alloy increases the level of toughness that the alloy is having.
And the low-temperature hardening of the material improves the strength and allows the good fabrication along with the alloy. Also, with the excellent corrosion resistance feature, the alloy is suitable for all the applications. This is the way that the alloy is used in the development of the bars and rods.
