What you need to know about Inconel 718 round bar
Inconel 718 alloy rod is a high-strength nickel-chromium-iron superalloy known for its excellent high-temperature mechanical properties and resistance to corrosion and oxidation. Bars made from Inconel 718 are commonly used in aerospace, gas turbines, and other demanding applications where these properties are critical.
How should 718 Inconel alloy be heat treated?
For optimal tensile and stress-rupture properties, the following heat treatment should be used: 1 hour at 1750°F to 1800°F (954 to 982°C) in air, followed by 8 hours at 1325°F (718°C), followed by cooling at 100°F/hour to 1150°F (56°C/hour to 621°C), holding for 8 hours, and then air cooling.
