The difference between Inconel 600 steel strip and Incoloy 800 steel strip

The difference between Inconel 600 steel strip and Incoloy 800 steel strip

The main difference lies in their composition: Inconel 600 is a high-nickel alloy, while Incoloy 800 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with a lower nickel content, which affects their performance and cost. Incoloy 800 is more economical and suitable for applications requiring high high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance; while Inconel 600 has better corrosion resistance in acidic environments, but its overall cost is higher.

What are the applications of Incoloy 800 alloy?

Incoloy 800 Alloy

It is used in the manufacture of heat treatment equipment, such as baskets, pallets, and clamps. In chemical and petrochemical processing, this alloy is used in heat exchangers and other piping systems for nitric acid media, particularly suitable for applications requiring resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking.

What is Inconel 600 Alloy Strip?

Inconel 600 alloy strip is a standard engineering nickel alloy strip suitable for applications requiring corrosion and heat resistance.

This alloy strip also possesses excellent mechanical properties, combining high strength with good machinability.

Inconel 600 strip is cut from a master coil.

What is Incoloy 800 Alloy Strip?

Incoloy 800 steel strip is a nickel-based alloy steel strip with excellent oxidation resistance and heat resistance.

Incoloy 800 steel strip is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy containing 21% chromium, 32% nickel, and varying amounts of manganese, aluminum, and titanium. In addition to its excellent high-temperature corrosion resistance, this alloy also exhibits good resistance to stress corrosion cracking due to its high nickel content.

Incoloy 800 steel strip possesses excellent high-temperature strength while maintaining excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance at temperatures up to approximately 1100°C (2000°F). Furthermore, it exhibits good mechanical properties at low temperatures down to approximately -200°C (-328°F).

This alloy steel strip can be used in a variety of applications, including the manufacture of heat exchangers and fuel cells.
