The difference between Inconel 600 flange and Inconel 601 flange
Inconel 600 and Inconel 601 flanges are both nickel-chromium alloys designed for use in high-temperature, corrosive environments, but their chemical compositions differ, resulting in different properties. Inconel 601 has a higher chromium content and the addition of aluminum, resulting in superior oxidation resistance and creep rupture strength compared to Inconel 600.
Does Inconel alloy 600 rust?
It offers excellent corrosion resistance in high-purity water, and no evidence of chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking has been detected in reactor water systems. This alloy is produced to stringent specifications for nuclear applications and is designated INCONEL alloy 600T.

Inconel 600 Flanges:
Ideal for applications requiring resistance to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking, dry chlorine and HCl gases, and carburization.
Commonly used in gas turbine engine ducting, chemical plants, and furnace hardware.
Specifications: AMS 5540, AMS 5665, ASME SB 166, ASME SB 167, ASME SB 168, ASTM B 166, ASTM B 167, ASTM B 168, EN 2.4816, UNS N06600, Werkstoff 2.4816.
Inconel 601 Flanges:
Excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization, making it an ideal choice for high-temperature corrosive environments.
Resists thermal shock and maintains good mechanical properties at high temperatures.
Specifications: AMS 5715, AMS 5870, ASME SB 167, ASME SB 168, ASTM B 167, ASTM B 168, EN 2.4851, UNS N06601, Werkstoff 2.4851.
