Hastelloy C276 tubing exhibits broad resistance to mixed chemicals (including oxidizing/reducing acids and chlorides) and good high-temperature strength; while alloy B2 thick-walled tubing is particularly suitable for strongly reducing environments (such as HCl and sulfuric acid), and can resist general corrosion, but it will fail due to embrittlement under oxidizing conditions (iron/copper salts) and certain high temperatures (1000-1600°F). Therefore, C276 seamless tubing is a general-purpose alloy, while B2 alloy tubing is a special alloy suitable for specific strongly reducing acid systems.
