Difference between Inconel 718/825 Alloy Sheets

Gnee Steel is a professional manufacturer of Inconel 718 and Incoloy 825 sheet metal. Gnee Steel's 718 sheet metal packaging includes: steel strapping: pipes with an outer diameter not exceeding 3 inches are typically bundled together with polypropylene film to prevent rusting during sea transport, then secured with steel straps; wooden crates/crates: pipes are usually packaged in wooden crates or crates for protection during transport, especially longer or larger diameter pipes; seaworthy export packaging: suppliers typically use standard seaworthy export packaging methods, which may include various materials and techniques to protect pipes during transport; tarpaulin packaging: to prevent rainwater, seawater, etc., from seeping into the export wooden crate packaging during transport. Gnee Steel also specializes in the production and sales of alloy materials. Gnee Steel's products are widely used in aerospace, chemical, power, automotive, and nuclear energy fields, and customized alloy material solutions can be provided according to customer needs. For alloy material price inquiries or to obtain customized alloy material solutions, please feel free to contact us at ss@gneesteel.com for a quote.

Difference between Inconel 718/825 Alloy Sheets

The main difference between Inconel 718 and 825 plates lies in their strength and corrosion resistance applications: 718 is a precipitation-hardening, high-strength nickel-based superalloy, ideal for high-stress aerospace/turbine components (up to 705°C); while 825 is an iron-nickel-chromium alloy designed for excellent acid, oxidation, and pitting resistance in chemical/marine environments.

What are the applications of Inconel 825?

Inconel 825 alloy exhibits excellent corrosion resistance under various conditions, including both general and localized corrosion, making it widely applicable. Its applications include chemical processing, pollution control, oil and gas extraction, acid production, pickling operations, nuclear fuel reprocessing, and radioactive waste treatment.

Inconel 825

Inconel 718 alloy sheet is a hard alloy that can be machined into various complex parts. It exhibits excellent weldability, especially crack resistance.

Inconel 718 alloy possesses good tensile strength, fracture strength, and creep resistance, making it widely used in various fields. For example, it can be used to manufacture rings, casings, liquid-fueled rockets, and various sheet metal components for aircraft and land-based turbine engines.

Incoloy 825 alloy sheet is renowned for its corrosion resistance in a variety of corrosive environments. The nickel content is sufficient to resist chloride ion corrosion. The composite composition of nickel with molybdenum and copper also endows it with excellent corrosion resistance, enabling it to withstand corrosive environments such as phosphoric acid and sulfuric acid. Therefore, it has a wide range of applications including chemical processing, acid production, pollution control, gas recovery, and radioactive waste treatment.
