FAQ

Q:What are Inconel 625 tubes used for?

A:Inconel 625 tubes are used in aerospace, marine, chemical processing, and nuclear industries. Their excellent resistance to heat, corrosion, and high-pressure environments makes them ideal for heat exchangers, exhaust ducts, reactor piping, and offshore components.

Q:What is the temperature range for Inconel 625 tubing?

A:Inconel 625 tubing performs reliably across a wide temperature range, from cryogenic levels up to around 982°C (1800°F). Its ability to retain strength and resist oxidation at extreme temperatures makes it ideal for thermal and high-stress applications.

Q:Are Inconel 625 tubes resistant to seawater corrosion?

A:Yes, Inconel 625 tubes offer outstanding resistance to seawater corrosion, including pitting and crevice corrosion. Their high nickel and molybdenum content makes them suitable for marine applications like seawater piping, risers, and offshore structures.

Q:What standards and specifications apply to Inconel 625 tubes?

A:Inconel 625 tubes are manufactured to ASTM B163, B444, B516, and ASME SB standards. These cover seamless and welded tubing used in heat exchangers, boilers, and condensers requiring high strength, corrosion resistance, and thermal stability.

Q:What is the difference between Inconel 625 seamless tubing and welded tubing?

A:Seamless Inconel 625 tubing offers superior strength and uniformity, ideal for high-pressure uses. Welded tubing is more economical and suited for lower-stress applications but must be inspected for weld quality to ensure performance under critical conditions.
