ASTM A433 Inconel 625 Plate and Sheet Specifications.pdf

What is ASTM B443?

ASTM B443 is an ASTM international standard specification for nickel-chromium-molybdenum-niobium alloy (Inconel 625) and nickel-chromium-molybdenum-silicon alloy (UNS N06219) plate, sheet, and strip. This standard covers two grades: Grade 1 (annealed) for lower temperatures, and Grade 2 (solution annealed) for higher temperatures requiring creep resistance, thus ensuring the material quality of critical components.

ASTM B443 Scope

You find four main product types covered by ASTM B443. Each type serves a different purpose in manufacturing and engineering. The table below helps you see the differences:

Product Type Description
Sheet Thinner, made by cold rolling for precise uses.
Plate Thicker, made by hot rolling for heavy tasks.
Coil Formed for specific applications.
Strip Thinner, suitable for detailed work.

What is ASTM A433 Inconel 625 Plate and Sheet Specifications?

ASTM B443 UNS N06625 is the standard specification for UNS N06625, commonly known as Inconel 625. This alloy is supplied in plate, sheet, and strip forms and possesses excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, and good high-temperature properties, making it ideal for applications in aerospace, marine, and chemical industries. It is available in two grades: Grade 1 (annealed), suitable for temperatures up to 1100°F; and Grade 2 (solution annealed), suitable for applications requiring higher temperatures and demanding creep and fracture resistance.

ASTM A433 Inconel 625 Plate Chemical Composition

ASTM A433 Inconel 625 (UNS N06625) plate is a high-strength, corrosion-resistant nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy, primarily composed of Nickel (balance, min 58%), Chromium (20-23%), Molybdenum (8-10%), and Niobium+Tantalum (3.15-4.15%), with controlled limits on Iron (max 5%), Carbon (max 0.10%), Manganese (max 0.50%), Silicon (max 0.50%), Sulfur (max 0.015%), Phosphorus (max 0.015%), Aluminum (max 0.40%), Titanium (max 0.40%), and Cobalt (max 1.0%).
