Inconel Alloy Astm B163 Uns N07718 Pipe description

GNEE Inconel Alloy Astm B163 Uns N07718 Pipe
Inconel alloy ASTM B163 UNS N07718 pipe refers to seamless or welded pipe made from Inconel 718 alloy and conforms to ASTM B163 and UNS N07718 standards. Inconel 718 is a precipitation-hardening nickel-chromium alloy known for its high strength (especially at elevated temperatures) and excellent corrosion resistance. This makes it suitable for use in aerospace, oil and gas, and other industries requiring high-performance materials.

INCONEL 718 Pipe Manufacturing Process

Welding Process
The steel grade and application requirements influence the welding and forming of the pipe. For small-diameter pipe production, we use tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding. Steel plates are coiled and welded within the welding machine. The steel plates are formed into coils before entering the welding machine. The joints between the coils are then welded to form the pipe.
Drawing/Floating Process
The process of drawing a metal bar, rod, or wire through a die to change its surface finish, shape, dimensions, and/or mechanical properties is called floating or drawing. The drawing process reduces the outer diameter, inner diameter, and wall thickness of the pipe. The advantage of Inconel pipe lies in its maintained surface integrity.
Continuous Seamless Tube Mills
Continuous tube mills have revolutionized the production of seamless pipe. Compared to traditional processes, these mills require no forging, welding, or filler metal. This technology allows for continuous production of seamless pipe, resulting in increased productivity, lower costs, and greater efficiency.
Continuous Casting
A significant advancement in seamless pipe production is continuous casting. By continuously pouring molten metal into a water-cooled mold, it solidifies into a continuous billet. This continuous casting technique ensures tubes with improved uniformity and higher mechanical properties.
Annealing
During the annealing process, the metal is heated above its recrystallization point and then cooled to room temperature. During the forming process, molecular bonds in the metal become tighter, making it stronger. After the annealing process, the metal regains its ductility.
Immersed Tubing
Immersed tubing is a drawing technique for reducing the diameter of a tube. In this drawing technique, the tube is drawn through a die without a mandrel. Using a mandrel does not guarantee a good internal surface quality. The angle of the die determines the integrity of the external surface. The die used produces a uniform surface. Tubes can be made significantly smaller than their original dimensions. Immersed tubing is an ideal choice when cost is a concern.
Inspection and Testing
Before shipping our products to consumers, we conduct an inspection process to verify the integrity of the product.
