It inhibits the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the weld heat affected zone and is suitable for most chemical process applications in the welded condition.
Our Hastelloy C4 coils and strips offer excellent corrosion resistance to a wide range of chemical process environments, including thermally contaminated mineral acids, solvents, chlorine gas and chlorine-containing media (organic and inorganic, dry chlorine, formic and acetic acids, acetic anhydride, seawater and brine). In many corrosive environments, the corrosion resistance of Alloy C276 and Alloy C4 is essentially the same, but in strongly reducing media such as hydrochloric acid, Alloy C276 is superior, while in strongly oxidizing media, the opposite is true, with Alloy C4 being superior. Our Hastelloy C4 strips, coils and foils offer good corrosion resistance to a wide range of media, including organic acids and acidic chloride solutions.
