What is 1.4362 Duplex Stainless Steel Plate?
1.4362 SS Plate is a lean grade duplex stainless steel alloy. Duplex alloys are composed of equally distributed ferrite and austenitic steel properties with chromium, nickel and molybdenum in defined quantities depending on the grade. Lean duplex is one of three common grades available in duplex steel.
Duplex 1.4362 is another variant of biphasic austenitic-ferritic grades with high mechanical properties and increased corrosion resistance, especially intergranular after welding and in delivery condition.Grades are used in the paper, petrochemical and fuel industries, chemical, shipbuilding, nitrogen, aerospace, construction, heat and power generation and cryogenic industries. Enhanced Duplex (abbreviated to EDX 2304™) is a "reinforced" variety of 1.4362 grade with a slightly higher content of chromium, molybdenum, carbon and proportionally lower content of nickel than the standard S32304 made on special request.
