The sheet has excellent strength and hardness and deliver superior performance. 17-4ph stainless steel sheet is also known as precipitation hardening stainless steel.The chemical composition of DIN 1.4542 Flat Sheet includes high percentage of chromium 15-17%, nickel 3-5% and copper 3-5%.The materials are not compatible at temperature range above 3000C and for low cryogenic temperature.

There are 5 important methods involved in the fabrication of the 17-4ph SS rolling sheets which includes:
Heat treatment- the sheets are processed through solution-annealed condition.
Hot forming- in this process uniform heating of the full solution anneal present with the material up to temperature range of 950-12000C is required followed by cooling lower than 250C is recommended.
Cold forming- this process is used to enhance the resistance towards tress corrosion. This method is only applicable to plates.
Cutting- mechanical cutting which includes abrasive waterjet, bandsaw, shearing and machining is preferred.
Welding- the sheet can easily be welded by industrial standard methods which include GTAW, PAW, SMAW and GMAW.
