Inconel 718 Schedule 40 pipe is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum superalloy designed to resist a wide range of severe corrosive environments, crevice corrosion, and pitting corrosion. This nickel alloy also exhibits very high yield strength, tensile strength, and creep-rupture properties at elevated temperatures.

The excellent high-temperature properties of the nickel-based superalloy Inconel 718 have led to its widespread use in the aviation, marine, and automotive industries. However, Inconel 718's poor thermal conductivity and rapid strain hardening result in poor machinability and surface integrity.
