Incoloy 825 seamless heat exchanger tubes

Incoloy 825 seamless heat exchanger tubes
Incoloy 825 tubing is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with added molybdenum and copper. Its excellent resistance to oxidation, various acids (sulfuric and phosphoric acids), chloride-rich environments, and stress corrosion cracking make it an ideal choice for seamless heat exchanger tubing. This alloy is widely used in demanding applications such as radioactive waste disposal, chemical processing, marine exhaust emissions, and waste heat recovery. It performs well in both cryogenic and moderately high temperatures up to approximately 1000°F (540°C). Despite its excellent performance, Incoloy 825 tubing comes at a higher cost and requires careful handling to maintain its integrity.
What is the difference between Inconel 825 and SS316?
Incoloy 825 is well-suited for highly corrosive environments, high-temperature applications, or applications requiring resistance to stress corrosion cracking. SS316, on the other hand, is well-suited for applications requiring good resistance to general corrosion and pitting corrosion.
