Monel K500 Plate
Monel K500 has high nickel and chromium concentrations. Monel K500 plates are a precipitation hardening grade with excellent strength and hardness. These plates have enhanced resistance to corrosion and severe environments. They work well in both low and high temperature conditions. Nickel alloy K500 plates are resistant to sour gas systems. These plates are non-magnetic and hardened by heat treatment. UNS N05500 clad plate is a clad plate designed by bonding metal strips together. These plates are easy to fabricate compared to other super alloys.
ASTM B127 UNS N05500 strips can be fabricated and welded as per standard practices. K500 Monel plates are supplied in hot worked, solution treated and precipitation treated. Annealing of Monel k500 plates is done by softening the matrix after working and solutionizing in the age hardening stage.
Monel k500 plates are subjected to temperatures between 1400 to 1600 degrees Fahrenheit to achieve adequate material hardening. This is because DIN 2.4375 hot rolled sheets are hot worked at 1800 degrees Fahrenheit. This makes the sheet very ductile and formable. Monel alloy K500 cold rolled sheets are subjected to temperatures of 1900 degrees Fahrenheit during the hot rolling stage. This gives the cold rolled sheet a fine grain structure when processed at room temperature. For the best aging response and maximum softness, alloy K500 sheets are water quenched. This improves its properties.
