Monel K500 Pipe (UNS N05500) is a nickel-copper alloy that has the same corrosion resistance and properties as Monel 400. Alloy K500 Pipe has greater strength and hardness than 400. Monel K500 Pipe is also more susceptible to stress corrosion cracking in certain environments. Nickel K500 Pipe is often used in high temperature environments such as industrial furnaces, chemical and nuclear vessels, and heat treatment equipment. Monel K500 Seamless Pipe and Monel K500 Welded Pipe are identical except for the higher carbon content and the addition of up to 1.20% aluminum and titanium. Nickel Alloy K500 Pipe has excellent weldability and is often used in marine applications such as seawater valves and pump shafts. Monel K500 Square Pipe is widely used for its high temperature strength and ability to resist oxidation, carburization, and other types of high temperature corrosion.
