Overview
Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy designed for high temperature and corrosion resistant applications. It performs well in both oxidizing and reducing environments, making it suitable for use in extreme conditions such as chemical processing, aerospace, marine and nuclear industries.
This alloy is particularly valued for its resistance to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking (SCC) and strong oxidation resistance up to 1095°C (2000°F). Unlike precipitation hardened alloys, Inconel 600 is strengthened by cold working, providing high mechanical strength without loss of ductility.
