C4 alloy is an austenitic low carbon nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy. The main differences between Nicrofer 6616 hMo and other similar chemical composition alloys developed earlier are silicon, low carbon, iron and tungsten. The chemistry provides excellent stability at 650-1040°C and improved resistance to intergranular corrosion, avoiding edge line corrosion sensitivity and weld heat affected zone corrosion under proper manufacturing conditions.
